Let me introduce myself: My name is Cécile and I am a French student completing an internship in Inside Out Contracts.
This is my first experience working in an office and I must say that I really enjoy it. Being around hard workers all day allows me to stay focused on my tasks, knowing that a job well done will have a positive impact on the company. This feeling of being part of a team is like no other and motivates me to give my best. As soon as I arrived, the team made me feel like I was one of them and did not treat me differently because of my intern status or my non-British origins. In fact, this is a very multicultural team and everyone is welcomed. I was even astonished to receive a card full of kind words from the entire team and chocolates for my birthday only one week after my arrival. This is the kind of thoughtfulness that allows for a close-knit team devoted to the company and its well-being. This management style that includes respect and care for the employees should be taken as an example. All input coming from employees is welcome and my supervisor told me from the beginning that I should not hesitate to tell her if I had ideas that could benefit the company.
By recruiting me, Inside Out Contracts gave me the opportunity to demonstrate my abilities and for that I am very grateful. Discovering how an important company like Inside Out Contracts works on a daily basis and what the keys to success are excites me.
This is the first time that I am waking up with an eagerness to start the day and the first time that I am having difficulties to stop working, either to take my lunch break or to go home in the evening. Because of the variety of the tasks that I achieve, I know that every day will be different and I never get bored, which I find to be a privilege in the working world. I was even given the opportunity to express my creativity with the making of a short movie to present Inside Out Contracts’ showroom event in June.
This is not the kind of internship that only benefits the company but also the intern. In fact, my supervisor always tries to make me learn or experience something new, which is not the case for every trainee. I am determined to make the most of my internship and to return home with new-found knowledge. Until then, I will continue to enjoy my stay in the beautiful and inspiring city of London.
I hope one day I will be presented with the opportunity to come back in this vibrant city and see again all the wonderful people I have met here. In any case, I will never forget my stay, which made me grow up, and I will always remember Stanley, the ‘crazy for clementines’ office dog who is the best at cheering everyone up!
